Available Positions
We are hiring!
We have open positions for a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Ph.D. student to join our team at the Automotive Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, hosted at the University of Windsor's SHIELD Centre. The Centre's goal is to ensure that the vehicles of tomorrow are safe and secure. The Centre is hosted at the University of Windsor, in the Windsor-Essex region, the Automobility Center of Canada. The primary focus of this position will be research on the design of efficient hardware architecture for implementing post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms.
Post-quantum cryptography is becoming increasingly critical due to the looming threat of quantum computers, which could compromise current cryptographic systems' security. PQC algorithms are known to be computationally extensive. As a result, there is a pressing need for innovative hardware architecture designs that can efficiently implement PQC algorithms. This research will address this need by exploring novel approaches to hardware acceleration, optimizing performance, power efficiency, and security.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical and computational background, problem-solving skills, motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Understanding of cryptography algorithms is appreciated and exposure to PQC algorithms is highly beneficial. Moreover, experience in hardware architecture design, RTL coding, FPGA and ASIC design flow and implementation, and familiarity with UVM, synthesis, and timing analysis are valued.
The Post Doctoral Fellow is required to have additional knowledge of Side Channel Analysis and hardware security.
Funding:
This research position is fully funded and falls under the auspices of the SHIELD Centre at the University of Windsor. (Please keep in mind that funding is subject to availability and approval.)
How To Apply
If you have the required skills and are interested in contributing to cutting-edge research in automotive cybersecurity, we would like to encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references to mitramir AT uwindsor DOT ca. Also, feel free to include any relevant portfolio pieces or project examples that show your skills and experience. Join us in shaping the future of automotive cybersecurity!
For Industry Partnerships
SHIELD is collaborative and focused on industry ready and mobility critical projects and solutions. If you have a project or an idea you'd like to work on contact us via email by sending a brief description of your project and any proposed outcomes to SHIELD at uwindsor DOT ca and someone from our team will be in touch to set up a follow-up meeting.
For Students and Researchers
Motivated students are encouraged to apply to join us. The field of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design is an interesting and dynamic research area, as is the field of connected and autonomous vehicles covering the security and privacy of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X).
Graduate admission: Please note that we receive a lot of emails regarding graduate admissions mostly from international students. However, only a select few will be picked and will be admitted to the research group.
We will try to reply back as soon as we can, but there are times that due to a busy schedule, applicants won't hear back from us for some time. Please keep your emails short and to the point, and do not send the same email repeatedly.
You can contact us via email by sending your resume and coverletter to SHIELD at uwindsor DOT ca.
